JAKARTA, 14 November 2018: Zettagrid, award-winning Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, today announced the opening of its second availability zone in Cibitung, West Java. Deployed in the Equinix Global Data Centre Platform, Jakarta IBX Data Centre, known as JK1.

Equinix has partnered with PT Data Centre Infrastructure (DCI), the first data centre provider in Indonesia and South East Asia to be awarded Tier IV design certification by the Uptime Institute® for its DCI Data Centre. This partnership allows Zettagrid customers access to the suite of compute, backup and disaster recovery solutions in Indonesia, backed by Equinix’s quality assurance.

Zettagrid has been rapidly expanding across Asia-Pacific, this being the second availability zone to open in less than 18 months, focusing on delivering innovation and automation to data storage, recovery and protection. The launch of a second availability zone in Indonesia enables improved uptime for our Disaster Recovery and Backup products and solutions, now available in this region. As a Tier IV data centre, PT DCI alongside Equinix provides an availability of 99.99% or just five minutes of downtime in a year.

“The Indonesia market is adopting Zettagrid’s products at a tremendously high rate, with the large demand placed on our backup and disaster recovery solutions,” said Nicholas Power, Chief Operating Officer Zettagrid. “Zettagrid is pleased to be able to offer our award-winning products to the Indonesian market, backed by the reliability and uptime that we’ve come to expect from Equinix.”

The expansion will allow customers and partners in Indonesia to meet strict compliance and standard level agreement (SLA), securing their mission-critical and confidential data. Deployment at JK1 will improve redundancy and recovery procedures for Indonesian businesses, ensuring 100% business uptime with Zettagrid’s suite of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

“With the launch of the second availability zone in Cibitung, Zettagrid is able to provide DCI Cloud Connect services, allowing customers to directly connect to global cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud,” said Reza Kertadjaja, Country Manager, Zettagrid Indonesia. “Connecting through DCI Cloud Connect, customers will experience stable and predictable performance with automated, near real-time provisioning that by-passes public internet.”
